Three Bears Honey and Crafts Emporium, Part 2
George, the cat, followed by the two black dogs, one large and one small — Max and Cindy, followed Wendy into the cottage with her last load of stuff from the car. Wendy hustled to get the dog’s food dishes out of the box they sat in, and find the right spot in the kitchen to place them.
George supervised from the kitchen counter, while Max and Cindy explored the cottage, sniffing and following old scents.
“You’re going to have to get rid of the car.” George announced, as Wendy decided that the spot at the end of the little island, furthest from the stove, was perfect for the dog dishes.
“Why?” Wendy asked, as she was filling the water bowls. “It is in my name, and I will need it to get around out here.”
“Two reasons,” George purred, “well maybe more than two…”
Wendy placed the filled water bowls next to the dog dishes on the floor, and stood hands on hips, waiting for George to continue.
“I took the liberty, while you were snoozing in your car, to remove the tracker tag from under the rear bumper and tossed it into the trash bin just before the truck came to empty the bin.” He blinked at her while she processed that.
“He had a tracker on my car?” She started it as a question, but her voice went flat at the end of…
